I am a wife and mother of three children. My family is very active in sports and the performing arts. My husband and I play softball competitively, playing locally and traveling around the US to compete in various tournaments. I spend a lot of time along the soccer sidelines cheering my two younger kids on as well as in theaters and other venues cheering on my oldest daughter as she dances in competitions, local events, and recitals. You will also find me at band and choir concerts throughout the school year.
I have an eclectic approach to therapy. I tailor therapy to each individual, combining a variety of techniques and modalities to address each individual’s unique needs, experiences and goals.
If you would like to resolve or more effectively manage current or past difficulties and stressors, are going through life changes, noticing a decline in your emotional and mental well-being, or desire to improve your relationships (personal, family, social, or professional), I would love to work with you on your road to positive change and a happier, more fulfilling future.

Hello, I am Amy, and my focus is on working one-on-one with adults (25yo+). I work with: The queer community, transgender, and gender non-conforming individuals, as I feel that they are not only under served, but are often poorly served. The ethically non-monogamous and the kink community. Clients with substance use issues. Those struggling to manage mental illness such as depression or anxiety. People whose issues stem from PTSD, trauma, or grief. Giving witness and presence to pain helps facilitate a space in which people can heal. Experience has taught me that where you discover joy and passion, you also find a well to draw upon for wisdom. My focus is on calling forth your authentic self and bringing out the strengths you naturally possess. I bring an open mind to my sessions; I understand that my stories will never parallel those of every client. I have a wealth of life experience – enough to be confident that, working together, we can bring about profound personal growth. The goal is to see you not simply survive but thrive.

transitions, eco-anxiety, and grief. Areas of focus for me include working with LGBTQ+
individuals, people in helping roles, and those healing from the impacts of childhood trauma. I
hold a certificate in Ecopsychology, and can incorporate nature-based therapy in our work
together. This might look like holding sessions outdoors or engaging in homework between
sessions to connect with nature.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and affirming - fostering a space where you are
invited to be your whole, authentic self. I work from the perspective that while everyone has the
inner capacity to thrive, life challenges and trauma can interfere. By exploring your past and
present experiences with compassion, non-judgement, and openness, we will tap into resources
within and around you to make way for new insights and skills to apply to your everyday life. I
integrate a variety of therapeutic approaches including gestalt therapy, mindfulness,
self-compassion, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed approaches.
I am new to the South Sound area and am eager to explore this community and the beautiful
nature around us. Outside of work, I can be found playing music with friends, reading, spending
time in nature, enjoying comedy, and playing cribbage with my partner.

I have lived in the Olympia area for the last 15+ years and I am a proud husband and father. I have gone down many different career paths (delivery driver, welder, tattoo artist...just to name a few) before I became a counselor. This life experience has framed the way I approach therapy in the sense that I never want to assume where or what someone may have experienced before we sit down to talk to each other.
My approach to therapy draws from many different counseling theories and current research-based treatment methods. I have experience working with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, incarceration, substance use issues, relationship discord, and treating fire service professionals. I have also been vetted by the IAFF Center of Excellence Team.
I like to look at a client’s strengths and build upon them to help develop solutions to move beyond the problems that exist and that are causing suffering in their lives or relationships and learning how to cope more flexibly to make ourselves more resilient in the future. I am currently providing both in-person and telehealth counseling for individuals.
