I have a Masters in Science in Mental Health Counseling from Prescott College in Prescott, Arizona. I completed my clinical internship at Behavioral Health Resources - Children, Youth and Family Division in Olympia WA.
I was born and raised in Olympia by a union nurse and a community college math teacher. I worked for many years as a caregiver, supporting elders and people with disabilities and bring a disability justice and anti-oppression lens to the work I do with clients.
I serve adults and young people experiencing different life stressors, personal challenges, and health concerns. Whatever you bring to session, I meet you with unconditional positive regard to support you in building the life you want. In addition to other competencies, I have experience with depression, anxiety, Bipolar I & II, and PTSD.
Works with ages: Adults

I work with adolescents and adults moving through life's transitions and challenges. Each person's journey is different, so I aim to use techniques that fit each individual's needs. I use an integrative approach stemming from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Theory, Family Systems Theory and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I use techniques such as play, expressive art, and talk therapy.
I focus on creating a safe space for people to explore difficult emotions and use a collaborative approach to help clients reach their goals.

Hey, I’m Tim. I have recently moved to Washington in 2024 after spending a year in the West of Ireland. I find meaning and fulfillment in pursuing therapeutic connections for the purpose of providing a space where all my clients can feel seen, heard, and valued. I developed my passion for helping individuals from my personal experiences working with adolescents in inner city Chicago, volunteering with medical and music teams for both earthquake victims in Haiti and Burmese Refugees in Thailand, as well as mentoring in a Neurodivergent program in Denver. I am passionate about connection and processing how relationships and events impact areas of identity, emotional regulation, familial attachment, human induced trauma, and life transitions. I am client centered and strive to provide safety, acceptance, and empowerment for all my clients from unique backgrounds and experiences. I incorporate CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and Somatic therapy.
I love to work with adolescents 10+, college students, adults with childhood trauma, and parents with children still at home.

Hello!
I’m from the Midwest and found my way to the beautiful state of Washington in 1994.
For 35 years I’ve worked with trauma-affected youth and families—including youth
orphaned by war in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala-- and have founded and directed nonprofit
programs designed to provide classroom support to students impacted by trauma. I
work with trauma’s many presentations: Anxiety, depression, dissociation, inward and
external reenactment behaviors, eating disorders and body dysmorphia.
I believe that all behavior is an attempt to meet a need at any given point in time. We
don’t always make the best choices to meet that need, but the need is real. With this
understanding, I work with youth, families, and adults to identify unmet needs and to
look at behavior as not merely right or wrong, but an attempt to meet a need—an
approach that removes shame and stigma from human behavior.
My therapeutic approach is eclectic; it includes principles of Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy,
somatic work, emotional literacy, and art. I also try to help clients notice what their
unconscious might be telling them--through their dreams, artistic expression, and
behavior.
One of my guiding beliefs comes from one of my favorite bears, Winnie-The-Pooh:
“It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine.”
Works with ages: 11 and up, and with parents of younger children.
